I'd heard from another 4th grade teacher that the Robert Newell House was the best Oregon history field trip available. So, we booked the trip, loaded the bus at 6:45AM, and descended upon a quiet river valley called Champoeg. When we arrived, we were greeted by 4 women in bonnets and calico dresses. The excitement was tangible as we lined up outside of the museum! As you will see from this video, the Robert Newell House lived up to its well-deserved reputation.
